His newest is actually his most colourful providing but, produced on the iconic Laurel Canyon Valentine recording studio and carrying that moody, deep reverb-laden Laurel Canyon sound that so instantly evokes a way of nostalgia and musing in its listener.

“I used to be writing lots through the midst of a unusually lengthy wet season in LA. I keep in mind driving by means of the canyon feeling like the entire metropolis was quieter and slower. I knew I needed to faucet into that power with some type of washy drum groove and beachy tremolo guitar textures, so I recorded a smooth drum half (you may hear a little bit ambient rain within the microphones). Then I looped it whereas looking for the fitting chords and melodies. The room I used to be writing in had a window overlooking a cobblestone driveway. I stored staring out, imagining somebody standing close to the sunshine submit whereas smoking a cigarette alone within the rain. There was one thing unhappy and lonely — however romantic to me. The entire story got here from that imagery; as if it have been a dialog from me to the stranger, questioning what their story was and eager for a little bit of connection.”
