The Waller-Bridges carry pleasure and musicality to nationwide treasure Colman’s cowl of Portishead.
Olivia Colman, The Crown actor and nationwide treasure supreme, has been joined by Phoebe Waller-Bridge and her composer sister, Isobel Waller-Bridge – who contributed to the Fleabag soundtrack magnificently, FYI – within the studio.
And sure, that’s recording studio, not TV or movie. Olivia Colman is giving us a canopy of Portishead’s ‘Glory Field’ for charity.
The Web is looking it the Fleabag reunion we didn’t know we wanted (v true), nevertheless it’s additionally simply darn cool to see composer Isobel Waller-Bridge duet on the ukulele along with her sister Phoebe Waller-Bridge (watch above).
Phoebe Waller-Bridge was first seen strumming the ukulele in her first TV sitcom, Crashing.
Now, her and Isobel have offered a steadfast accompaniment to Colman’s superb cowl of Portishead’s ‘Glory Field’. They strum rhythmic downbeats – with the occasional flick of an upbeat for texture – that floor Colman’s syncopated vocals.
Colman’s voice is completely on level, and we LOVE watching the Waller-Bridges duetting like professionals on these ukes.
The recording session begins all hugs and reunion-joy. And it undoubtedly appears like a little bit of a “second”.
We reckon she handles the entire thing like a professional, little doubt helped vastly by having the Waller-Bridge sisters along with her for robust musical backup. Bravo!
